OBJECTIVES

P.E. OBJECTIVES:

MATERIALS

SCAFFOLDING MATERIALS

ASSESSMENT

In this session the teacher will assess whether students use the set sentences such as "I have scored a goal, now we have one point more. In addition to that, the teacher can assess how students work in groups and whether they cooperate or not. Againg, it is essential to evaluate if students respect and have a positive attitude towards inclusion.

In addition to that students will be asked to fill in a worksheet (see below) with which they are supposed to reflect on their knowledge and assess the lesson. 

SOCIAL ORGANIZATION

Students will play goallball in their base groups. There will be  2 groups playing, 2 groups who will be ballgirls/ballboys and a group that will observe, they will rotate every 5 minutes.

SESSION 4: VISUAL HANDICAP/GOALBALL

Step by step:

Warm up:

  • They will run 3 times around the playground court and once they finish they say the set up sentence:

“I have warmed up, now I am ready to play”

Presentation:

  • The instructions of the game are explained

  • Students are given a flashcard with the same game explained with pictures to make it more visual

Practice:

  • Goalball game: This game consists on throwing the noisy ball using their hand and scoring  a goal in the adversary team. None of the players can see anything as they are blindfolded. Once they score a goal the teacher will make a whistle sound and the scoring team will have to say a sentence such as “We scored a goal so we have one more point”. A group will be behind the goal keepers to stop the balls and give them back to the throwing team.

Review:

  • Ask students for difficulties and reflections

 

Closing:

  • Students will fill in a worksheet to collect all that is taught on that session. Activities will be simple and suitable to be help in a few minutes at the gym. They will have to recall on what has been learnt.
